vintage finds

This past Friday, Harper(Little Bunny) and I had a girls shopping day complete with lunch and antiquing in Decatur. Lunch started off at Southern Sweets Bakery, which has savory food that is just as amazing as their sweets.  Then we headed over to Kudzu Antiques, a store that my mother-in-law brought to my attention a few years ago. This place is fabulous. You can really find almost anything that you may need for decorating, cooking, entertaining, etc. They have it all!

When I originally began making jewelry, most of the beads and pendants I used were vintage, but I have strayed away from that recently. I love unique and one-a-kind pieces that people can be proud to wear, so we went in search of unusual and beautiful found objects. As luck would have it, I discovered a gorgeous black shell and a bundle of old beaded napkin holders that will make the perfect golden pendants!

Anither venture I have thought about doing for my local shows, is making candles out of old champagne or dessert glasses. I just love the extra bit of drama it adds to a room. Plus, you get a pretty neat glass once the candle has burned down. I guess we will see where this goes...
